My name is Emma, AKA Lady Summerisle, and this is the home of my personal project to collect and review horror films, Including Horror, Horror Lite (More family orientated films such as The Addams Family but with that general vibe), Giant Monsters and Grindhouse. The good, the bad and the truly awful, all are welcome. I know, I know, another movie review website, but hey, let’s try and make it interesting. These aren’t just films, they’re stories, and some stories are true. What if all of these stories took place in one location, on one little island? Who would know?
There are rules however:
I only review the films I physically own, currently these are all on either DVD or Blu-Ray but any physical media is allowed.
A random number generator decides which film I watch each time. If the film is part of a series of films then I review the earliest part that hasn’t been reviewed yet, rather than doing it out of order. If however it’s a remake then it can be reviewed before the original.
Each review will have a story intro, something to tie the film into the lore of Summerisle, this could be something obvious and closely tied to the film in question, or it could be something more subtle. Think of the story sections as inspired by the films rather than copies. Then there’s a general, spoiler free review section, followed by a more in depth spoiler laden section for those who’ve either seen the films, or don’t care about spoilers.
Italics are Lady Summerisle or other island residents, plain text is Emma.
